Louis Thompson Artist Talk
We celebrated glass artist Louis Thompson as he led an intimate artist talk and hot shop tour, delving into his career path and revealing the tools, materials, and inspirations behind his captivating work.

Louis showcased a treasure trove: glass scraps gathered from artists across the community, internal pieces he creates for his hot sculpted work, cups revealing the starting stages of blown forms, and fragments collected by his collaborator Sophie Thomas from Hawaiian beaches. This rare glimpse into his process spanning stages from conception to completion revealed both his collaborative spirit and sustainable approach. With nearly thirty years working alongside Peter Layton, the audience witnessed the journey of a true master glass artist.

This event was a prelude to our presentation at Collect Art Fair, Somerset House, where Louis will be revealing his new collection of work.
