Customer Care
Caring For Your Glass Art
Special care should be taken when handling glass art.
Please remove any rings before handling glass art. Ensure you unwrap the piece on a soft surface.
Please be aware that knocking two pieces of glass together can cause damage. It can also be scratched (eg. with a ring), and it is advisable not to slide it across a surface, to prevent the base from scratching. To move the piece, carefully pick it up with your hands on either side of the piece. Always place the artwork gently on a level surface on its base.
To clean your artwork, glass can be wiped with a damp cloth, a little mild detergent or glass cleaner (eg. Windolene) - you could use microfibre cloths or blue roll sprayed with glass cleaner. If you wash glass in water, please make sure that it is only lukewarm and dry the piece completely to avoid water marks.
All unpacking instructions apply when repacking.
PLEASE NOTE: if your work is in the style of these listed below, carefully follow instructions and when re-packing any of these pieces below, remember to wrap the piece in tissue paper before wrapping in bubble wrap.
Delicate
To clean your artwork, glass can be wiped with a damp cloth, a little mild detergent or glass cleaner (eg. Windolene) - you could use microfibre cloths or blue roll sprayed with glass cleaner. For delicate, hard-to-reach areas, use a soft-bristled brush and be careful not to apply too much pressure.
Cut & Polished
The piece must be cleaned with a soft clean cloth, for example, a microfibre cloth. Before cleaning, gently blow on the piece to remove any excess dust, which could cause scratching. Glass cleaner or acetone can be used to clean the surfaces.
Coated
Ensure that you wear the gloves provided, before touching the piece. To move the piece, carefully pick it up with one hand on either side of the piece. To clean your artwork, the glass can be wiped with a dry, clean microfibre cloth.
If you are in any doubt about the care instructions, please contact us at the gallery and we’d be happy to help.
Shipping
Our gallery team will personally wrap, pack and arrange delivery of your new artwork. We pack the work extremely carefully to ensure it arrives safely. Please see below for information on how to care for your glass art.
If you would like to have an item shipped to a country that isn’t on the list below, please email gallery@londonglassblowing.co.uk with the following info:
- A link to the specific product(s) you are interested in
- The delivery address & country
We will then get back to you with a quote as soon as possible.
For most UK, EU and US orders, we generally ship with DHL and use a signed-for service. DHL will email you with tracking details once your purchases are on their way.
Breakages are extremely rare – as we said, we pack things well – but if your purchase arrives damaged, please call us immediately.
In some instances, the work requires a custom-built crate with foam padding. This is subject to an additional cost, which varies for a UK delivery. Occasionally, we use companies such as Ebiss, who specialise in fine art shipping and we have successfully sent fragile works halfway round the world using their excellent service.
All artworks on our online gallery have had the shipping costs set by a combination of their weight and the desired shipping destination. We reserve the right to amend the cost of shipping if for any reason we should need to do so. We should stress that this would be highly unlikely. If the amended cost was not satisfactory to you, then of course we would issue a full refund.
If you have any questions regarding your purchase, please call Gena on +44 (0) 20 7403 2800 or email her at gena@londonglassblowing.co.uk.
We are a small, family-run business, and we like to think we’re pretty nice people. If something goes wrong at any stage of the way, with anything you purchase online, we’ll do our absolute best to sort it out for you as quickly as possible.
If you purchase an artwork and you’re not completely happy with it, you are welcome to return it to us (at your expense). Providing it arrives back safely and in the exact condition it was sent, we will issue a full refund. We comply with the Consumer Protection (distance selling) Regulations. You have 14 working days from the day after you receive your goods to notify us if you’d like to return anything, with another 14 days to return the goods to us.
We do our absolute best to ship all purchases as soon as possible and aim to send most orders out within 3 working days. During busy periods this may increase slightly.
International Shipping
Orders from outside of the UK may be subject to import duties and taxes incurred when the delivery reaches your destination. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and cannot foresee their amount.
The charges of import duties and taxes must be paid by the recipient of the order. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
