London Glassblowing Studio and Gallery offers half-day introductory experiences designed to teach basic techniques under the tutelage of our highly qualified glass artists. The emphasis is on providing an enjoyable, hands-on experience covering the basics – gathering and shaping molten glass, blowing and forming.

Through demonstration and close supervision, you will acquire an understanding of the working properties of glass, learning to centre, turn, stretch and control glass in its molten form. Working in teams of two with one teacher, you will discover different approaches to hot glass, exploring form and colour while creating a solid glass object and a blown vessel. You will learn about the movement, timing and communication needed to create innovative pieces.

Sessions run from:

10am - 1pm or 2pm - 5pm on Saturdays only and the experience costs £500 per person.

No previous experience is necessary. All tuition, materials and finishing are included. You will make 2 pieces which require annealing time and finishing by our tutors – they will be ready for collection after one week.

Due to popularity, sessions book up four to six months in advance, so early booking is recommended. Gift vouchers are also available.
