Solar Storm Gold over Aurora

Kate’s Planet Earth artworks represent the unseen energies that flow through us and our shared world. Our beautiful planet, is dwarfed by our star and as a result the earth’s magnetic field is weakening, evidenced by increased cosmic and solar energy making it through our magnetic field. This affects our planet in a myriad of ways. The most obvious evidence is low latitude aurora borealis records were broken in 2023. We have 18 months left of the current 11-year solar maximum so expect more aurora making solar storms before our star goes back into an 11-year quiet period. Solar storms bring us auroras and solar forcing affects all life on earth from earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and directly affects our weather and climate.
