Dawning
Colour is an important part of Heike’s sculptural forms; she explores transparent colour in glass through transformations and movement. By mixing colours during casting, she creates both uniform hues and patterns that reveal glass flow. Her PHD research led her to produce her own glass colours, adding metal oxides. The works change with viewing angle and light, enhanced by variations in thickness, curves, angles, and surface finishes. With no fixed base, these pieces can be positioned multiple ways and respond to touch with subtle motion.
Like early dawn's soft light and still air, this infinity loop-inspired form captures delicate pink and lavender hues. The subtle colours shift with ambient light, inviting viewing from multiple angles.
