Enso Small circle

Description
Enso takes its name from Zen circles, a sacred visual symbol found in both Japanese and Chinese traditions. Representing enlightenment, strength, elegance, and the universe, these circles embody a spiritual path without beginning or end. In traditional calligraphy, an Enso is created with a single expressive brushstroke and may be open or closed. An open form celebrates imperfection and impermanence, suggesting movement, growth, and infinite possibilities, while a closed circle signifies wholeness and completeness. Peter’s glass interpretations often embrace controlled asymmetry, and in this series, the forms sometimes deviate from perfect circularity, reflecting both the spirit of Zen and the dynamic, expressive possibilities of glass as a medium.
