This unique exhibition acts as a celebration of one of the United Kingdom’s most treasured talents, Elliot Walker.
Having joined the studio from university, Elliot’s evident artistry with glassblowing was nurtured and developed, which allowed him to go on to participate and win the Netflix show Blown Away 2. He has experienced immeasurable success ever since, having featured in exhibitions and galleries globally.
Now, Elliot is returning to the place of his origin for a special one-off show that shines a spotlight on his significant work and presence within the glass art sector.
He will be joined by partner Bethany Wood, with whom Elliot works closely on a lot of his pieces, and Laura Hart in this exhibition. Bethany, an established artist herself, has been creating glass art for the past seven years, whilst simultaneously assisting Elliot and teaching the craft to newcomers. Meanwhile, Laura utilises blown bases created by Elliot to add her own stunning glass floral embellishments. Both of these wonderful artists will be showcasing their pieces alongside Elliot in this beautifully curated exhibition.
There will be a live virtual demonstration from Elliot and Beth on 9 October, where they will be showcasing their craft at the furnace with an engaging live-streamed demonstration.
Watch the live demonstration here.
This exhibition and online live event coincide with London Craft Week, a celebration of all things arts, culture and craft-driven. Find out more here.
On 14 October at 7.30pm, both Elliot and Bethany will be taking part in an online live-streamed discussion, hosted by Tim Rawlinson. The pair will be providing an insight into this exhibition, their work and glass as a medium.
