Meet Sacha Delabre

Sacha Delabre was raised on an apple farm in the French Alps. At 18, he trained in cabinet making before moving to northeast England to work with the artist Antony Gormley and complete an Art Foundation course at Newcastle College. It was during this period that he discovered ceramics, which led him to study Glass and Ceramics at the University of Sunderland.

During his undergraduate studies, Sacha developed a strong commitment to glassblowing, influenced by Venetian glass traditions, creating subversive stemware that challenged conventional forms. After graduation, he taught introductory glassmaking courses at The Glass Hub before joining the studio of Philip Baldwin and Monica Baldwin Guggisberg, where he honed advanced hot and cold glass techniques, including Swedish overlay, incalmo, and a wide range of cutting methods.
