Milos is inspired by the striking white volcanic rock formations of the island, particularly at Sarakiniko Beach, where cliffs have been sculpted over millennia by wind and sea into smooth, otherworldly shapes. Close to Folegandros, where Peter’s youngest son was married, Milos also holds a rich cultural heritage as the site where the Venus de Milo was discovered. Peter has long admired Cycladic art, with its elegant, minimalist figurines, and in this series he makes his first exploration of figurative glass. The works blend the island’s natural forms with the simple, timeless beauty of Cycladic sculpture.
