Peter Layton joined host Shawn Waggoner on Talking Out Your Glass for Season 9, Episode 17 in August 2024, as London Glassblowing presented Glass Heaven, his joint exhibition with Tim Rawlinson. The episode follows Peter's journey from Prague and Bradford to the experimental glass workshops of 1960s America, and on to founding London Glassblowing at Rotherhithe in 1976.
Peter reflects on the inspirations behind his painterly work, from snowy commutes to a slick of oil on the Thames, and on the studio's role in nurturing the next generation of glass artists.
"Every piece is an adventure."
