As we neared the end of 2025, we had an exciting selection of events to welcome in the festive season and celebrate the beginning of our Golden Year - 50 years of London Glassblowing. From wine tastings to jewellery spotlights, glass illuminated by candlelight and the chance to blow your own bauble in the hotshop, our gallery was the perfect place to spend a cold winter day.

Wine Tasting with Lant Street Wines

On Thursday 13 November, we hosted a wine-tasting party to launch our winter exhibition, Christmas at London Glassblowing. Lant Street Wines from Borough Market guided guests through five wines paired with artworks from the show, while Tim Rawlinson discussed pieces from the exhibition.

Jewellery Weekend

London Glassblowing presented its first-ever jewellery spotlight weekend on November 22-23, marking the start of out Golden Christmas season. This drop-in event offered visitors the chance to try on pieces from an eclectic collection of wearable art, meet the artists, and watch live demonstrations. On Saturday, Katherine Huskie demonstrated lampworking techniques for her signature spiral glass earrings, while the Sunday featured Philip Vallentin sharing the stories behind his pieces.

The weekend showcased work by nine artists including Anthony Scala, Layne Rowe, Olga Alianova, Sara Fell, Tim Rawlinson, Virginia Gasparotto, and Yuki Kokai, offering unique Christmas gifts and statement pieces for the festive season.

Blowing by Candlelight

London Glassblowing hosted a magical winter evening with the gallery illuminated by candlelight and mulled wine aromas. Peter Layton, joined by artist Layne Rowe, gave a glassblowing demonstration. Guests experienced the heat of molten glass from the hotshop in an enchanting, golden atmosphere.
