Tim Rawlinson

Colour Saturation I

£2,500.00

Inspired by the mesmerising way ink disperses in water, Tim has developed his previous work ‘Tesseract’, which explores the fluid movement and interplay of colours within glass. These pieces create an illusion of colour - primary colours creating secondary colours - a technique Tim describes as painting with light. Originally conceived as a blown glass piece, Tim developed the concept further in cast glass before returning to his initial blown glass technique. Through a process of manipulating and twisting the molten glass he achieves a dynamic sense of movement. The highly polished top enhances the optical qualities of the glass, inviting viewers to discover the intricate layers of colour, light, and refraction within. Like a three-dimensional painting, each angle reveals new perspectives of frozen motion, demonstrating the paradox of capturing fluidity in solid form.
