Polymorphic Forms
Polymorphic Forms grew from Peter’s fascination with the way working with hot glass allows one idea to lead naturally to another. In response to a commission for marine-inspired pieces, he drew on techniques developed while creating the solid bases for his Waves series. The shapes and scale of these works presented significant technical challenges, dictated by the dimensions of the niches for which they were intended. These constraints gave rise to unexpected qualities, with soft amber tones and delicate lustred trails forming organically as the glass was shaped. The series celebrates the interplay between material, technique, and inspiration, capturing both the subtle beauty of glass and the evocative forms suggested by the sea.
