Pocket Book Falls
In this body of work, Kate explores miniaturisation, drawing inspiration from Alfred Wainwright's pocket walking guides of the Lake District. The series documents walks completed in the Welsh National Parks, capturing diverse seasonal conditions. Working at a small scale has presented technical challenges, particularly with metal leaf, leading to increasingly abstract pieces that still retain the landscape's essence. Through this approach, Kate investigates how scale influences the relationship between artwork and viewer.
