Cader Idris from Afar
Art and the seasons create a dialogue between humanity and nature. As the seasons change, they transform both colour and mood in the landscape. Light plays a crucial role, either revealing or concealing details while creating illusions of volume and depth. For this body of work, Kate returned to the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park to study its seasonal transformations. By combining different metals and oxides, she’s captured the Massif in varying weather conditions from a single viewpoint. The result is a series of glass block tableaux representing Autumn, Winter, and Spring/Summer, each expressing the mountain's distinct moods.
