R2091 Open Eye

Open Eye R2091 is the latest in a series of circular pieces which Colin calls ‘colour saturation’ because of the extensive use of colour. The piece is cast from multiple glass pieces with colour layered in between. When it melts into the form of the mould, the colour moves and distorts as the glass flows, hence the movement of the colour strata. This piece has been extensively cold-worked, ground, polished and hand cut to create the polished and textured surfaces.
