Returning Cycle II
The starting point for Richard’s cast glass sculptures are impressions, observations and questions, resulting in pieces that express his findings and feelings, distilled into a moment of pure expression.
Many elements of life are cyclical but these cycles work with variance and change, continually evolving, meaning the cycles never return, but loop continuously. The reason then to “return” is to observe and learn from these changes, and to assess the way we affect other life cycles in our environment, producing new cycles like plastics and magnifying others like carbon.
