My Wave series is one I am continuously inspired by. Originally made in response to our exhibition, Inspired in 2019, the series was based on Hokusai’s Great Wave. In these new versions, I still wanted to express the ‘frozen moment’. By increasing their breadth, as in a barrel wave, and simplifying their form and colour, I was able to focus on their cresting motion.
