Lichen takes the recognisable form of Tim’s iconic Echoes of Light series, delving further into the exploration of colour and light. The colour captures the essence of movement and fluidity, inviting viewers into a world of texture and illusion.

This colour creation is much like marbling in textiles. Tim, inspired by liquid light projections popular in the 60’s, has been exploring mixing reactive pigments and powders to create a painterly texture within the glass. Like ink and oils floating on the surface of water to create movement within the colour. Tim uses a small metal tool, like a hook, to pull/push and distort the powdered glass colour whilst hot on the end of the blowing iron.
