"For some time now I have been obsessed by the range of tints that I can achieve with an orange base colour. It involves putting a reactive red over yellow and delighting in the resulting effects. Sometimes I augment these with additions of surface work such as manipulating or scoring the hot glass. I have etched some of these pieces to give them a velvety look and feel." - Peter Layton
