Telescopic photography of outer space has been a rich source of inspiration for Tim. The suspended ball of blown colour evokes a far off galaxy, a micro world encapsulated within the clear glass.
Colour is used in a painterly fashion, building up layers of glass pigment. The glass colours in this work undergo a chemical reaction when mixed together in this way, creating rich gradients of colour.
