The fluid curves and bulges of free blown glass are what intrigue and inspire me. This living, glowing and breathing material instigates every decision I make during the hotworking process. It is this level of spontaneity that I love; and the thought of the unknown result. During the precise process of cutting and polishing I can be more contemplative and my decision making more controlled. The contiguity of hot and cold processes is evident in the effect of the angular edges juxtaposed against the movement of the curved edges in the body of my pieces. – Laura McKinley
