About this piece

Karen’s singular talent lay in her ability to draw inspiration form the natural world and render it so completely, using man made materials. This incredible dish form represents the very apex of Karen’s ability to recreate natural phenomena. The intricate threads of frosted glass emanate from a central point, ending in a rim of beautifully patinated copper. This piece brings to mind patterns of slow growing lichen found on ancient stone monuments. A highly accomplished piece, from a true master of her discipline.
