During a visit to the Gauguin exhibition at Tate Modern in 2012, Peter was surprised by the extensive use of glorious expanses of pale pinks, blues and greens in the later works. In Peter’s Pink Tahiti series it is the subtle, complex combinations of overlaid colours that seem to achieve the visual texture and tonal qualities which best capture the exotic flavour of Gauguin’s journey.
