About this piece
One of the things which marked Karen’s pieces as works of genius was her ability to create objects which appeared to be every bit as fragile as a snowflake, whilst in reality being robust enough to be displayed in a domestic environment. This piece is a splendid example of Karen’s technical proficiency. At first glance it is almost impossible to believe the piece exists. Its visual fragility is beyond belief. However, Karen’s remarkable construction technique has fortified the structure with an intangible strength. The result is a piece whose visual fragility belies its physical strength.
