Layne Rowe’s woven forms result from the skilful layering and cutting of coloured canes, and comprise patterns and textures of extraordinary complexity. These demand the close attention of the discerning viewer to discover the subtlety of their intricate detail as in the finest fabrics or basketry. He has made a revival of this particular black and white woven series, revisited and redeveloped from his work of 10 years ago.
