Peter Layton's solo exhibitions have become an eagerly anticipated annual tradition in the London Glassblowing calendar. In 2023 Peter presented Making Waves, a new body of work which further explored his fascination with capturing a frozen moment in glass. If waves are an expression of the universal energy and rhythm that underpins all life, then exploring their relativity is an imperative for Peter. This collection also explored his interest in rhythmic linear pattern-making; the staccato intricacies of his previous vessel series such as Jazz, Shibori and Harlequin give way to the fluid undulating ribbons of contrasting colour and texture of the Meander series.
