I am very proud to hear it said that London Glassblowing is considered to be one of the leading creative hubs of the UK glass scene. Our vision for the gallery is to exhibit the very best of contemporary British glass from both established and emerging artists. To that end, in this, the second iteration of our exhibition Young Masters, we are fortunate to be showing practitioners who are among the leading artists of the coming generation in British Studio Glass, including several amazing new talents.
Many of you will already have discovered the extraordinary creativity and diversity in the work of this cohort, but what may be less apparent is how much courage and dedication is required in the search for an individual direction/expression and personal excellence in this most difficult medium, not to mention, in these difficult times. There are no short cuts to achieve these levels of quality and expression. Each piece demands days, weeks, and even months of painstaking labour, not to mention the costs involved. This is after having spent many months developing the concept.
We are proud to present these artworks representing the fruits of their extensive labour and talent for your enjoyment and enlightenment.
