Poppy Platters at Coutts

Raising money for the Royal British Legion

Poppies at Coutts Bank

01.11.17 - 14.11.17

London Glassblowing is honoured to work with the private bank Coutts for the Poppy Appeal 2017.

From the 1st to the 13th of November, Peter Layton’s iconic Poppy Platters will be on display in the atrium of Coutts‘ Strand office where they can be bought. Half of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the Royal British Legion for this year’s Poppy Appeal. The fundraising campaign, held every year in November in the run up to Remembrance Day, raises vital funds to help the Armed Forces community.

Peter Layton has explored themes of war over a number of years with previous works such as WMD and a series called Unforeseen Circumstances. His most recent installations have incorporated the use of the poppy with its undertones as a familiar symbol, ironically using the beautiful and fragile medium of glass.
