Lot 130 - Trottola I, Laura McKinley
I am fascinated by the playfulness and elegance of children’s toys and how the forms invite engagement. In my project ‘Childlike Abandon’ I am using hot glass which directly contradicts the delicate and fragile material with which the objects are created, whilst at the same time exploring form, texture, scale, and space. I wish to excite the viewer and evoke a childlike intrigue, drawing the viewer in to explore internal space, the play of light and shadow on the forms and the optical qualities of solid glass.
