Current Opening: Partner Galleries Coordinator

London Glassblowing is a well established art/craft business with a gallery and working studio located on vibrant Bermondsey Street in SE1.  Visitors can see and purchase contemporary glass art by our resident and guest artists as well as being able to view the creative process. We pride ourselves on being one of the best glassblowing studios in Europe and comprise a friendly and hardworking team.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic administrator to run the wholesale side of our business for two days per week.  We supply Peter Layton’s glass to a number of galleries in the UK and abroad, and we need someone to develop good relationships with gallery owners and managers, assist them with stock choices, liaise with our studio manager to ensure the correct work is made, raise delivery notes and invoices and pack and ship the glass.   The post would suit a practising artist seeking part time employment and wishing to gain relevant experience.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a love of art/craft objects.
  • Have strong administrative and organisational skills, with a keen sense of detail.
  • Be able to work independently.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be happy to be hands on, selecting, packing, shipping art glass.
  • Be confident to liaise with our studio manager to ensure the required work is made.
  • Have the ability to create strong relationships, and to ensure that high levels of sales are achieved.
  • Have a keen interest in art/craft objects and be willing to act as sales assistant in our own retail gallery from time to time.
  • Have strong IT skills
