"The aspect of traditional Venetian glassblowing that has always fascinated me is the astonishing geometric complexity that can be achieved through canework. With this piece I used a classical Venetian filligrana technique, focusing on the notion of the ‘flow experience’ often undergone by craftspeople and artists working with their discipline as a mode of self-expression. 

I am viewing the glassblower as a kind of human-machine, working efficiently and with extraordinary precision by referencing psychology, science-fiction and high-end craft skill." - Liam Reeves
